Hanatees’s Return & Refund Policy

Our Guarantee and Return Window

At Hanatees, we craft furniture to inspire imagination and bring warmth to your home. We stand by the quality and craftsmanship of our Tree-Shaped Bookcases and Montessori Shelves. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we are here to help make it right.

  • Money Guarantee/Exchange: We offer an exchange within 30 days of your original purchase date.
  • Standard Return Window: If you wish to return the item for a refund, you must initiate the process according to the guidelines below.

1. Eligibility for Returns (Standard Policy)

To be eligible for a standard return (non-damaged/defective), your item must meet the following criteria:

Timeframe You must notify us and initiate the return process within 30 days of the delivery date.
Condition The item must be unused and in the original condition that you received it.
Packaging The item must be returned in the original packaging (or equally robust, protective packaging suitable for international freight).
Proof of Purchase A proof of purchase (order number) is required.

Non-Returnable Items: Items showing clear signs of use or damage not caused by shipping.

2. Return Shipping Costs

Who covers the cost of return shipping depends on the reason for the return:

A. Hanatees Covers Shipping (Our Error)

We will provide a pre-paid shipping label and cover all costs if the return is due to:

  • A manufacturing defect confirmed by our team.
  • Shipping damage reported according to Section 5 below.
  • A mistake in fulfillment (e.g., wrong item or color shipped).

B. Customer Covers Shipping

The customer is responsible for the return shipping costs if the return is due to:

  • Change of mind or preference.
  • Wrong size/color ordered by the customer.
  • Buyer’s remorse.

Note: For customer-covered returns, you must use a traceable shipping service and purchase insurance, as we cannot be responsible for items lost or damaged during the return transit.

3. Return Process

Step 1: Request a Return

  • Email to: Send your request to support@hanatees.com within the 30-day window.
  • Provide: Your order number and a detailed reason for the return.
  • For faulty/damaged items: Attach clear photos or videos showing the issue.

Step 2: Receive Instructions

  • Our Customer Support team will reply within 1–2 business days.
  • We will confirm your return eligibility and provide detailed shipping instructions (including a prepaid label if the return is due to our fault).

Step 3: Pack & Return the Item

  • Repack the item securely in its original packaging, ensuring it is adequately protected for transit.
  • Ship to the specific return address: 1942 Broadway #314C, Boulder, CO 80302, United States.

4. Refund Policy

We guarantee a refund for all approved returns.

  • Inspection: Once we receive the returned item, it will be inspected to confirm its condition within 3 business days.
  • Processing Time: Refunds are initiated within 7 business days after the item’s condition is confirmed.
  • Refund Method: Refunds will be credited back to your original payment method (credit card, PayPal, etc.).
  • Notification: You will receive a confirmation email once your refund has been successfully processed.

Important Deductions:

  • Original Shipping Costs: If the return is due to a change of mind, the original flat-rate shipping fee ($150.00) is non-refundable. If your order received Free Shipping, the actual cost of the original outbound shipping will be deducted from your refund.
  • Restocking Fee: Returns for “change of mind” may be subject to a 30% restocking fee to cover inspection, handling, and re-packaging costs.

5. Damaged or Lost Items Upon Original Delivery

If your item arrived damaged or is lost in transit, please refer to Section 7 of our Shipping Policy. You must notify us within 48 hours of delivery of any transit damage, and we will arrange for a prompt replacement or full refund, with Hanatees covering all costs.
